SCORE International, BFGoodrich Tires and Tracking International Bring Off-Road Racing to the Fans
Off-Road Entertainment-based Website to Launch at 24th MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250
March 5, 2010 – Designed as the next evolution of motorsports-based content and Web entertainment, off-road motorsports promoter SCORE International, BFGoodrich Tires and Tracking International (TI) today announced a three-way partnership to create a dynamic new way for motorsports enthusiasts from around the world to enjoy the internationally recognized SCORE off-road series.
The website - www.trackinginternational.com/site/score/ comes just in time for next week’s 24th MasterCraft Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250, the second race in the 2010 SCORE desert racing series.
The project’s purpose is designed to greatly enhance the race experience for fans and the racing community itself. In addition to an enhanced live satellite tracking page that will monitor all of the 250-plus vehicles expected to start next week’s SCORE San Felipe 250, Tracking International’s site will provide actual race course prerun video and photography; two streaming audio channels webcasting live event coverage and unofficial timing and scoring in 50-mile intervals. In addition, TI will set up a special remote WIFI service in San Felipe (located on the sea of Cortez in Baja, Mexico) at Friday’s prerace and Saturday’s start-finish line to allow race teams the ability to monitor their vehicles. The live race coverage also provides visitors to the site, which can be accessed via BFGoodrich Tires’ “Nation of GO” site and SCORE International, pre-race interviews, live streaming of the San Felipe start finish line and a chat room for teams to post updates on their drivers.
“SCORE International has worked with diligence to remain at the forefront of international off-road endurance racing and this new alliance with our longtime supporter BFGoodrich and Tracking International reflects that objective,” said Sal Fish, president. “Bringing our races to an expanded worldwide audience via interactive technologies is very exciting, but so is the fact that three companies came together to make this happen.”
The partnership with SCORE and TI is a natural extension of BFGoodrich Tires’ NationofGO.com, an enthusiast-driven online community that focuses on sharing the passion for driving and performance.
“If you can’t make it to the race, follow the race weekend in real-time with streaming video and race tracking. The ability to follow desert racing has improved tremendously over the past couple of years,” said Roberts Kukainis, Motorsports Manager, BFGoodrich Tires. “BFGoodrich is thrilled to work with SCORE and Tracking International to bring each of SCORE’s extreme off-road races, starting with the San Felipe 250, straight to the homes of racing fans around the world.”
Founded in 2004, Tracking International is a sister company to Irvine-based International Race Consultants (IRC) which provides race tracking, multimedia content and safety monitoring to promoters teams and fans for extreme sporting events held in remote locations. At last year’s Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, the site generated traffic numbers that exceeded 300,000 page views originating from 71 countries for its innovative live event coverage.
“Our new partnership with SCORE International and BFGoodrich is a perfect marriage for the future of this form of motorsports,” explained TI cofounder Steve Myers. “By working together, we can showcase our growing variety of online coverage to a much larger international audience. More people than ever before can be part of SCORE’s unique brand of racing from the comfort of their homes.”
