Fresh off a commanding Class 1 victory at the 2024 King Shocks SCORE San Felipe 250, this Long Beach-based desert racing veteran continues to demonstrate why he's considered one of the premier open-wheel competitors in SCORE competition. The 36-year-old's recent triumph adds another chapter to an already impressive resume that includes some of the most prestigious victories in desert racing.
His crowning achievement came in 2021 when he captured the Class 1 championship at the legendary SCORE Baja 1000, conquering the grueling peninsula race that serves as the ultimate test of man and machine. That victory capped years of elite-level performance, building on consecutive Baja 1000 podium finishes with second place in 2017 and third place in 2018, establishing his reputation as a consistent threat in the world's premier desert race.
Known for his technical precision and mechanical expertise behind the wheel of his Jimco-Chevy, he has proven capable of handling everything from the high-speed sections of the San Felipe 250 to the marathon endurance challenges of the Baja 1000. His consistent presence in SCORE's top-tier Class 1 competition has made him a respected figure among desert racing's elite competitors.

It had been 10 months since Brad Wilson had raced in his No. 153 Jimco Hammerhead buggy, but he quickly got back into the groove and sped towards a Class 1 victory at the King Shocks 37th SCORE San Felipe 250. “We didn’t have that great of a year during the 2023 season,” said Wilson. “I had not driven the car since June and it took a better part of 50 miles to get back into the groove.” Read More
It is often pointed out that the difficulty and ruggedness of a SCORE race course changes on race day. After pre-running and with many SCORE Trophy Truck classes ahead of them, the Class 1 and Class 10 buggies found themselves in a much rougher course than what they pre-ran. Read More
Finishing first physically but placing second due to penalties is always a hard pill to swallow. But clean races win races when the competition is as tough as it is in Class 1. Although the Wilson Motorsports team with Brad Wilson in the No. 153 car crossed the finish line first, they acquired penalties that put them in second place behind Cody and Brian Parkhouse in the No. 127 car. The top four Class 1 teams entering the BFGoodrich Tires 54th SCORE Baja 500 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts may have at first predicted this race would be an all-out sprint to the finish. But after pre-running the course, they realized speed would have to take the back seat due to several very technical sections. Read More
The Class 1 battle at the 35th King Shocks SCORE San Felipe 250 seemed like it was going to be a battle against some of the best buggy racers and teams in the sport. As the day began, Conner McMullen in the No. 140 buggy started first after the best qualifying run, followed by Brendan Gaughan in the No. 162 car, and Jeff Blanchard in the No. 110 buggy. 2021 Class Champions Brian and Cody Parkhouse started third and were in a good position to win the race once again. Shelby and Cody Reid started fourth, so with the two Wilson teams heading off the starting line fifth and sixth, it seemed like the odds were against them to take the class win. Read More
