Biography

Two-time SCORE class champion Vincent Munoz has established himself as one of the most versatile and tenacious competitors in desert racing, earning the respect of peers through his remarkable ability to conquer the brutal Baja Peninsula terrain. The 39-year-old Yucaipa, California native achieved a remarkable double championship in 2018, capturing both the SCORE Baja 1000 Heavy Metal class title and the SCORE Baja 500 Class 8 championship in the same season.

Munoz's 2018 Baja 500 victory alongside co-driver Roy Tomkins in their Ford Ranger was particularly impressive, as they became the sole finisher in Class 8 out of six starters, completing the punishing 542-mile course in over 20 hours. This triumph marked their second consecutive win of the season, demonstrating consistent performance across multiple SCORE events.

Known for his methodical approach and mechanical expertise, Munoz has built a reputation as a driver who excels in the most challenging conditions where others fall victim to the unforgiving desert. His ability to adapt between different vehicle classes, from the Heavy Metal category to traditional Class 8 trucks, showcases the versatility that has made him a formidable competitor in SCORE's premier desert racing series.
