Rising through the ranks of SCORE desert racing with impressive consistency, this Utah-based competitor has established himself as a formidable force in the Pro UTV Normally Aspirated class. His breakthrough performances include a second-place class finish at the prestigious 2018 SCORE Baja 500, where he piloted his Polaris XP1000 alongside co-drivers Luis Dominguez and Nick Tenbruin to a strong 14:57:57 finish time, trailing only veteran racer Kristen Matlock.
Building on that success, Poelman secured another podium finish with second place in class at the legendary 2017 SCORE Baja 1000, demonstrating his ability to excel in the world's most challenging desert race. The grueling 1000-mile course through Baja California's unforgiving terrain serves as the ultimate test of driver skill, vehicle preparation, and team coordination.
Despite his young age during these achievements, Poelman has shown remarkable maturity and racecraft, consistently battling against seasoned professionals and emerging victorious. His partnership with experienced co-drivers and methodical approach to desert racing has positioned him as one of the most promising talents in the UTV ranks. With multiple podium finishes at SCORE's premier events, he continues building a reputation as a driver capable of competing at the highest levels of off-road racing.

After starting nearly in last place, Matlock quickly began running her race, putting a good lead on the rest of the Pro UTV N/A class. “The race was a lot rougher than I anticipated after pre-running all week,†she said. “We thought it was going to be a fast, smooth, easy-going run, but after those SCORE Trophy trucks got out there and tore it up a bit, it gave us a little bit of a challenge.
